New bike in the works

Post by bealey »

Hi fellas,
I just slapped a deposit down on a 2009 r 12 from BMW of Denver. I chose the biarritz blue metallic color with abs, asc, computer, saddle bag mounts, clear turn indicators, center stand, and heated grips. As dealer accesories they gave me a good deal on the side cases and cylinder guards. They are very friendly there and we came to an agreement that we were both happy with.
This will be my third beemer after having a r1150r and r1150rt. I am most recently coming off a yamaha fjr1300 and currently own a suzuki dr 650. Finally convinced the wife that I needed a real road bike to go with the dual sport. I have ridden may bikes through the years and can not think of any I have enjoyed as much as the r12. I am very excited, but will probably have to wait until the middle of May to take delivery. MAJOR BUMMER!!!!

Take care all,
Mike

Congrats Mike! I feel the same way about my R1200R. It just plain works for me. Third beemer here too. R65 (nice but underpowered), and an R1150RT. I have had many bikes in over 40 yrs of riding, and the 12 is my all time fav. As I've written here before, I just love looking down at those jugs when I'm riding. I couldn't see them on the RT. There is something about that view that I have always liked. Good luck with your new bike, hope May comes around fast for you. I know how that can be, lol

Congrats! That blue looks beautiful in photos. Of course you have jinxed your area to having a late Spring, this is extreme mojo way beyond the kind created when a wash and wax brings in rainy weather.

Cheers!
