James Gordy of LumaLink

James Gordy, who manufactured LumaLink light brackets as part of Gordy Tool passed away last week. I was notified via email by his son Brian. I found his brackets from a photo of Don's bike and thought they might work for me. After numerous emails and a number of phone calls to James we worked it out. He seemed like a good person. Genuine, knowledgeable, and dedicated to developing lighting solutions for various motorcycles. Condolences to his family.

I've been very bummed out the past week over this.

I was working with James on a design for a bracket that would mount to the brake-caliper bolts for the R1200R. We exchanged email as recently as the 19th, and I received a package from him just about when he passed away. The bracket he came up with looks great and is a good option for people who want to mount lights lower on the front end. I have that bracket (which came in the package from him) on my desk in front of me. I had intended to drop him a note about it - when I heard the awful news.

I'll be in touch with his son sometime in the next week or so to see if there are plans to continue his work with light brackets. And my heartfelt condolences to his family - he was a most excellent person.

Don, this is terrible news. I talked with James just before Christmas and just received the brackets and HID light set for my bike from him. I was going to give him a call tomorrow and tell him how nice the installation went. I talked with him over an hour about bikes and his CNC setup for making the brackets, and he invited me up to the shop to see his operation.

He was a fine gentleman who was proud of his product, and very, very devoted to customer service. He will be missed by the community.

I've been in touch with his son Brian, who said he will be continuing the LumaLink light brackets.. which are a testimony to Jame's enthusiasm for motorcycling.
