I sympathize with you.tommy wrote:okay, just food for thought..
you guys are annoyed about paying $2.00 for a gallon..

However, my point was not how much I'm paying, but how much it has dropped, clearly showing that when I was paying $4.00+, I was getting the shaft. I have no problem with fair price for fair value. If Europe has to pay more because they have less of their own oil, that sucks. If refineries are getting wiped out by hurricanes, I can understand that. But if the oil companies get together behind closed doors and decide they want to charge us three times what gas is really worth (not saying they did, just that's how it feels) I'm pissed? Aren't gas prices one of the main contributing factors to inflation? And this supply and demand excuse... I don't know, is that really true... I don't see any significant reduction in traffic... Where's this drop in demand... I'm not driving any less... Where do you spend more money for gas, for your day to day commute or for the summer trip you didn't take? Something stinks... Gas prices are down because someone pushed to see just how far they can push and they have realized they have pushed too hard... So, now they back off and we get a break... and with time... prices will rise... and when it gets to $3.50/gal... we'll be saying... heck, that's nothing, I remember when it was over $4.00. Then when it gets to $7.00 they'll back off again...
