A Couple Hrs of Free Time and Sheer Boredome

Post by johnnyjs1 »

I had a few hours of down time this weekend due to rain. I was sitting at home watching TV, when I realized I should be doing something constructive with my time. Had some paint for the Rockster....So this is what I came up with:

Formerly an all Matte Black Caberg Solo 104 Helmet

Rear Rack

Cover over Disconnects

Helmet on Seat

Well needless to say, the day after the helmet was finished, I put my tankbag on the bike, the helmet on the seat, turned around for a second, and naturally the helmet tipped and hit the ground. 3 nice chips in it 8-[

As you can see, the paint matches perfectly(even though the pictures arent too good
See, I told you guys, half the time I dont know what I'm talking about.

That may be the most visible helmet color. How do you like that helmet? They are on sale at Iron Pony, and I was looking at getting another helmet.

Are you going to do the whole bike, except the engine, in green?

Jeff...I like the helmet a lot, only..I ordered mine from overseas before they were available here and paid $269.00 for it. Imagine my surprise when I saw it at Iron Pony for $75 on closeout #-o . I am actually gonna get another one sometime this week from them(and keep experimenting with the old one). The built in visor is AWESOME!!! No need to bring 2 shields(clear/tinted) when travelling. The only downside is....the distance from mouth to front of helmet is pretty close. Removeable liner is nice (washable). For $75, you cant go wrong with it. Still debating on painting the bike, was originally thinking of reversing the colors (green with black stripes, but think maybe it would look too much like a Kawi 8-[ . Bits and pieces re getting painting at the moment (all parts that I have extras of) in case I dont like it and want to change back to original. I'll post up as they get painted. And yes......the helmet is pretty vivsible. Stupid Murphy's Law!!!! Never set your helmet on your seat [-X (especally the day after you get it painted 8-[

It is worth the trip down to Westerville, to check out the closeout section. lots of jackets, helmets, bots, etc.

I have figured a safe place one the bike to place my helmet, but it does require the tank bag to be on. Doh!

Safest place I've found is hanging from the right side passenger peg, facing out. 8)

Very nice use of time...Did you put any clear coat over your new paint job? Just wondering if not, how it would hold up in the elements. I use norrmads trick for my helmet. Works good!
