I'm driving a Rockster Edition '80. I currently have the BMW rails and the system cases with city lids.
I'm on the market for a topcase, but am having trouble finding a cool one that is compatible with the BMW side luggage & mounts.
The best option so far seems like the GIVI SR683 (http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/pr ... w/789/487/ ) since it is integrated with the BMW rack, however I dont think GIVI cases look particularly good with the R1150R.
Any suggestions? I tend to prefer more rugged aluminum looking cases but seems like they are primarily outfitted for the GS models.

I looked at the Givi option but wound up going for Hepco-Becker instead - the rack/mounting plate thing is considerably more useful and it's no more expensive. We went over this a couple of months ago in the R1150R forum for someone else; check it out here: http://www.r1150r.org/board/viewtopic.p ... &sk=t&sd=a

Thank you for the response.
Yes, I had read that thread and it was helpful.
The H-B rack looks like a great option, however I cant find anyone that carries it! (Here is a reference link to the part i'm unable to find: http://www.eurotechmotorsports.com/form ... StartRow=1 )
Any ideas for a retailer that stocks it?

It looks like you are committed to a top level option for the case, which I can certainly understand. However, those $$ could also be spent instead on a really nice after market shock upgrade. I humbly suggest the cheaper JC Whitney option, you can see my experience here as well

Good luck!

That's where I bought exactly that part last fall... I suppose it's possible they've discontinued it since there's no current BMW model it would fit anymore. I followed it up at A&S Cycles and Sierra BMW and got no love. I wonder if it might be worth your time to try calling Eurotech and see if they're still selling it even though there's no way to buy it online.
The JC Whitney thing is not a bad way to go, there sure are some proponents of it on this board. I think the H-B setup is probably better but I'm not sure it's four times the price better.

I have the 80th as well. I went with the Givi mount and Monokey 46 and have been pretty happy with it. I can send pics if you want them, but I guess it is pretty much up to personal preference. One thing I noticed from both the pictures prior to purchase and the actual set up on my bike is that the brake light is somewhat obscured by the whole thing. The Givi has a lighted brake light in the box, but I was warned in no uncertain terms that it was not compatable with bikes with ABS. I haven't confirmed this, but it sounds reasonable enough.Good luck

I use a this as luggage. BMW paniers and a Givi top box . seems to work fine.
