Heading South

Post by Lost Rider »

I'm planning on riding down to Boone NC on friday - 753 miles straight shot down in one day. Then I'm going to camp at High Country Motorcycle Campground for 2 nights, ride all day in the area, try to fish a little in the evening for 2 days, then head home on Monday - straight shot back.
Anyone in the area want to ride with me?

This trip should be something like 70/30 on/off pavement. I have a new packing system I'm trying - no hard bags, no pelican top box, just a new semi-softbag on the seat, with my tent up front on the forks. The Lightweight Minimal Setup, to really enjoy the twisties...

Dang, son. Headed our way with me headed even farther south. No bad roads in that part of the country. No sir. Check out the Daniel Boone Inn for breakfast one day. Tasty, if not heart-healthy.
Honey? How many bikes am I allowed to have?

Chitown , Tell Brent that Mark Price says Hello. I wish I could get up there from East Tn. to see your packing methods. I will be up there next weekend for the Fla. Poverty riders rally.

Chitown, While in Boone stop by Peabodies. If you like good beer or wine they have a very large selection.

thanks for the tips, I spent the day packing, went to rei, stocked up, and was ready to go. Then the call came an hour ago, have to work all weekend now.... Crap. I'm quite sad considering today was the first time it has been 70 degrees since October.... I'll be heading south asap...

That's too bad. Lke I say though the weekend of the 25th there is a small Fla. Poverty Riders rally there. Several of my friends ( The MOB ) from around the south will be there. It would be my pleasure to meet you.
