I've always had the same problem on this site. There are a few other quirks too that I won't bother to mention. It's not a matter of "cookies" or anything else because my automatic login works fine on many other websites.

What browser are you using? I have no trouble with Firefox whether in Windows XP Pro or Linux.

I was having the same issues recently but fixed it by logging in and then saving the url (as a bookmark), getting rid of the old bookmarked url. All happy now. (Firefox, Mac platform)

A lot of these kinds of problems really are related to cookies. There is a link on at the lower right hand corner called "Delete all board cookies" try that, and then try logging in again with the "remember me" option and see of that helps.

Tried it. Doesn't work on my work pc running IE 6 and doesn't work on my home pc running IE 7. Please withold the comments about using POS IE. It's what I use.

I actually had to login 3 times before I could get to this screen to reply. Even when I'm logged in, the link at the top says "log in" instead of "log out". I tried it at work... checked "auto login" then closed the browser and reopened. I came back to this site and got the "log in" link, couldn't reply to any posts, but strangely the list of "users currently logged in" included my name.

I visit probably 4 or 5 forums like this every day and this site is the only one that consistently doesn't work as expected.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking it, because I don't want the webmaster duties ;) but I am saying that it's buggy :(

that is strange, most solve it by "clearing the cookies". I suggest trying that again and why not clear the cache while you're at it.

Also, what URL are you using? Do you visit via the main page? (http://www.r1150r.net) or to the message board directly (http://www.r1150r.org/board) ? Try it the opposite way of how ever you connect now and se if that works.
