@GypsyRR: Here in Switzerland we call the BMW motorcycles "Q" because the older BMW's haven't had the paralever bar on the rear shaft drive, so every time one hit the throttle the back of the bike moved up a little (like riding a wild cow) and went back to its original position when the throttle was relased. Because of this effect the BMW's became the nickname "rubber cow" or "rubber Q" as the ass of these older bikes was moving up and down all the time as like the ass of a real rodeo cow. In Swiss german language a "cow" is called "kuh" and the letter "Q" means exactly the same and is only the short version of "kuh".
It's difficult to explain, but i hope my explanation is somehow at least a little understandable

Yeah, I understand now. But for some reason I think I should be embarrassed for not knowing that.

@GypsyRR: From what i've seen this nickname is not common in the english speaking forums while it's very common in the german speaking BMW forums...so you don't need to be embarrased in any case
I just didn't pay attention to this fact before and simply wrote "Q" as everybody does in the german speaking BMW forums...
Can't wait to see your second ride this year... Very beautiful country, like the images too. Nice to see photos from rides exploring all corners of the world.
