I just got through reading this thread. I highly recommend it for an hour or so of the most entertaining reading I've spent in a long time.

Honda's PC-800 was a really great handling, ultra reliable touring bike with no vibration and a low maintenance, water cooled V-Twin engine derived from the 800 Shadow. A very pleasant ride with feminine styling too prominent for most guys, that prevented it from selling well. Quiet as a mouse, shaft driven, excellent wind/weather protection, not much power but great on fuel economy. I regularly serviced two of them and always enjoyed the mandatory test ride. Judged solely on it's merits, it was a very practical and economical touring bike for those that couldn't afford a R1100RT.

LOL at Rob! Isn't that called "damning with feint praise?"

Great story, I like this guys style - "I would've liked to have kept the fuel gauge, but my mallet isn't that accurate ..."
