One of our GA club members has lost her son. He is 33 years old and a veteran of Iraq but has some mental/emotional problems and has disappeared since November 9th. He took off in his truck with $6 and a cell phone in his pocket. He called home early Sat morning but said nothing, from a cell tower over here in my area.
The local police departments as well as veteran groups have searched the areas around Macon, GA-his current home-with no sight of truck or Gary. His problems center around religious delusions of some kind and he has been known to leave on foot for the wilds to camp and work out problems. He is not violent nor is he after anyone. He just gets mixed up and gets lost.
His truck was found in a Wal-Mart parking lot yesterday way up here near me which was his former home area. This is about 100+ miles from Macon. The truck had been there for at least 5 days empty. Still no Gary. He may have run out of gas and with no money took off on foot as before.
Three of us are heading out for that area today to visit as many churches in that county as possible and possibly search around Lake Allatoona, a massive lake in the area with numerous campgrounds.
The weather is excellent since we still are drought beseiged here in Georgia. It will be nice riding and I'll take pics when possible, but wish us luck.
Report later. Over and out.
