This was one of those rides that just fell together perfectly. It was something a few of us had been talking about doing, just taking a day off work and riding. We set the date and had a few others join us. My coworker Greg (Fat boy), his friend Paul (Road Star), Chris cworley5150 (Rockster), his friends Jay (SV650) and Brad (Road king) made a well balanced group. Not having ridden with some of these guys and having a mix of bike styles I didn't know what to expect. Two natural subgroups formed and the journey proceeded without the slightest hitch.
It's been frosty the past couple of mornings and this day was no exception. It was 25 degrees out when I went down to leave.
There was frost on my car:

There was frost on my pumpkins:

The moon was still out:

We did the reverse of a route that Greg and Paul had done a couple of weekends before. I lead and we stopped here:

and here:

Our goal was to hit the Swinging Bridge Restaurant in Paint Bank, VA.
The swinging Bridge serves buffalo BBQ, buffalo burgers, and buffalo chips - them's taters, not farm frisbees.

Greg and Paul had seen the Philly Cheese Steak before and wanted to try that. I had to go with the buffalo burger.

Mmmmmm. Tasty!
Something on the dessert menu had caught my eye, French Crumble Apple Pie a la mode.

Sorry I don't have the after shots.
Here's the gang at the restaurant.

After lunch we went to see the nearby buffalo farm:

Do you think they know?

Chris led us to Union, Alderson and then Talcott where we stopped and stared at the steel driving man himself, John Henry.

Since it was starting to get late we headed for Princeton where we all went our separate ways. The weather, the ride, the food, and the fellowship couldn't have been better. A Halloween ride that I will remember fondly. Thanks guys!
