Pull the trigger now

Post by Echo »

Hi all,

I was planning to wait until March 08 to pull the trigger on the R12R but my dealer has lowered the price on the new bike to $13,980. The bike has ABS, centerstand, computer, sport screen, and heated grips and will give me a deal for installing Ohlins (or Hyperpro) and my Motolights (I don't leave home without them.

Is this a killer deal? If I buy the bike now, I won't be able to ride much this year due to family obligations before the snow flies so it will be sitting idle.

Your thoughts about this reduced price?

Not a bad price. Be a wonderful price if he threw in the bags..

It's getting on in the eastern states of "the floorplan is killing me" sorta deals from dealers. Since you said you were going to wait until March - I assume you're someplace where winter is coming.

Depending on what sort of deal he'll give you on new suspension, and the lights - it might be a really good deal. See if the BMW rebate for $500 in accessories is still in effect and try to get that in addition to the lower price.

That is almost precisely what I paid OTD pre-release date. It is a good deal. Looks like the dealer was over MSRP previously.

Pulled the trigger. Ended up getting a factory demo with 500 miles for 13,900. Black with no pinstripe, 600 mile service done, great deal on Motolight/Centech fuse install, ABS, etc. Lost 8 months of the warranty but my BMWs always have the warranty problems the first year.

I'll post photos when I get it.

Why didn't you get the new bike for $80 more?

Great deal on accessories, including Motolights with installation. Ended-up saving about 1300.00 rather than getting the "new" one (still a store demo with 150 miles) and adding the stuff later.

I can't get the Connecticut dealers to give me one cent off or give me a decent trade for my f650GS. Any suggestions?

Contact MaxBMW - not that far from CT - and I'm sure he'll do a deal - he has several '07's in stock (and they're getting old with the '08's on the ships..)
