I must say, not for the weak of heart. Note the motorcycle had the GREEN light.

Steve,
I, for one, appreciate the warning. But we (as motorcyclists) tend to be in a partial "state of denial" about the dangers. Without this denial, we would never get on a bike.
No gear in the world would help the half-dozen broken bones or organ trauma suffered in that crash. Neither the car or scooter braked prior to the crash.

I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray...

UUGGHHH! AARRRRGGGHHH! OOOOOOWWWWWWW!
That had to hurt.
I'm getting more paranoid by the day about riding around here. It seems that with ever more cars on the road people are getting MORE complacent rather than realizing they have to be paying MORE attention. It's getting scary out there.
My daughter was hit last month in her brand new Honda Fit by a drug dealer who ran a red light and immediately fled the scene of the accident leaving his drugs in the brand new Mitsubishi SUV he had rented. Her car protected her really well, and she escaped with scratches and bruises only. The Fit was totaled. We are getting her another one just like it.
I wonder if people are getting so complacent because they are bored with the act of driving and feel the need to distract themselves to cure this, or if they feel so protected by all the latest innovations in automotive engineering that it just doesn't matter much if they have a wreck, since they'll be all right anyway? Either way, it's leading to some very distracted drivers who threaten my existence, and I DON"T LIKE IT!
Rant over. Thanks for listening.
Anyway. I'm glad my daughter is ok. The car can be replaced. I hope they throw the druggies in the pokie!
