Revenge
Hi, It's been a while since I posted here. To much to do, to little time... Still enjoying my '04 LimeRockster. A bit. I have a son now. A year and a half he is. Milage went down from 10,000 to 500 miles a year... :D But this is not the reason for my post. Yesterday evening we (the Dutch) lost from ...

Re: I lost my mud flap. Do I really need it?
The rear fender of a r1200r is about the same size as a chopped r1150r rear fender...
Maybe the r1200r isn't designed for riding in the rain?

Nope.Flashdog wrote:... Because the speedometer is off then my odometer is off so I have accrued more miles. So I guess my bike has more like 25K miles. ...
My speedo is about 5-10% optimistic, but my odo is 4% pessimistic.
Both compared to a Garmin GPS.

The bike in the pictures is a customized Rockster, not a Roadster.bikermeow wrote:of the things i love about the Roadie is the "timeless" design.

The Rockster doesn't come with a beak, but has the same oil coolers.combustor777 wrote:The beak is in fact functional because it directs cooling air into the oil coolers mounted on the side of the tank. Without it the oil cooler(s) would have to be bigger.
I must have a problem...

Re: Exhausts
I weighed the cat and muffler a few months back. Muffler = 5.6kgs (12.3lbs) Cat (with stuffings) = 6.9kgs (15.2lbs) Does anyone know the weight of the Y-piece and the average weight of an aftermarket muffler? It would be nice to compare the following options: - stock (cat and oem muffler) ==> 6.9 +...

Re: No More Ohlins for the Rock
Look here: http://www.worksperformance.com/pdf/app_guide/street.pdf It's a good place to compare. My guess was wrong. :( Not only a different size, but also a complete different setup: I visually compared the two here: www.realoem.com So it seems BMW used a unique size shock and spring for the rear...

Re: No More Ohlins for the Rock
My local Ohlins guy looked up the specs for Roadster versus Rockster rear shock. Why does everybody compare Roadster and Rockster shocks? When I'm not mistaken BMW borrowed the front and back suspension from the R1100S (the only two unique Rockster thingies are the steering bar and the lighthousing...

I am losing my (ABS) religion. Don't. It's not the ABS that sucks, but all that crap BMW added to it. ABS itself is in most circumstances a life saver on panic emergency breaking. My previous bike was a R1100RT with ABS and I liked it. It did exactly what it should. I needed it just once on a wet b...

My '04 Rock came OEM with Dunlop D207RR front and rear. Very, VERY, scary tires! Huge grip - no grip - huge grip - etc  Had Bridgestone BT012 an BT010 after the Dunlops. Liked them a lot, but not much milage before the flat spot syndrome... (6/7000mls) Now on Bridgestone BT020 to get more mil...
