Re: Riding at 5000RPM

the manual says 5500 for the first 200 miles, and 6500 2nd, 7500, 3rd 200... after 600, it's top of the arc. That's for the 2012.[/quote] What page of the manual gives that info. My manual states don't go over 4,000rpm for the first 600 miles. Now I have a 2007, but I don't think the engine is that ...

Re: Riding at 5000RPM

Thanks
This is good to know because the bike sure performs better at 4-5000rpm than putting around at 3,000rpm

Riding at 5000RPM

I enjoy riding the bike at 4000-5000rpm. I like the sound, the feel and the ride compared to riding at 3000-3500rpm When I am on the HWY I do pop it up into 6th gear and enjoy the extra bass milage Question So by riding at 5,000rpm am I doing damage to the engine? I do take the bike up to 6,000 quic...

Re: Tire Pressure Sensor Failure

MY TPS failed 2 days after I had new tires installed in Las Vegas, by BWM dealer. Had them installed then the next day left for Utah, on my way home to Toronto Canada. So I didn't want to turn around and go back, so I just kept any eye on things, because after a while ridding the yellow warning ligh...

Re: My bike consistently runs out of gas

I don’t understand guys. I don't worry about my gas I have a 2007 rr with 40,000km (about 25,000 miles) This is my 4th summer season on the bike I just ride and watch the gas gage When it gets low, I fill up I know when the yellow warning light comes on I have about 60km (37miles) to go. As far as t...

Brakes

Just wondering....How long do your brakes last. 1. Brake Pads Front and Back 2. Roters. I have a 2007 R with about 40,000km or about 25,000miles I have ABS I did change the rear pads when I had about 27,000km / 17,000miles The front pads seem to be ok. But now when I apply the front brakes ( I only ...

Hopefully not much rain then I picked up these 6 maps http://shop.americaridesmaps.com/The-Blue-Ridge-Parkway-Series-6-Maps-BRPS17.htm They seem to have a lot of info, including showing gas locations I plan to look for...

Re: Mandatory ABS

I like my ABS. Not only for the fact that knowing it's there there if I need it, but makes everyday braking easy. Just use the front brake. The breaks, front and rear, are linked together, so for everyday braking I just use the front break
I still use the rear brake only when in gravel

Tire Pressure Indicators

I have a 2007 R Did a big raid last summer, about 11,000km Changed my tires in Las Vegas at the BMW dealership A few days later noticed that the tire pressure indicator; left side of the computer, which I believe reads the front tire: would not come up After about 1/2 hour of riding the yellow warni...

Helmets

I realize that this might not be the correct place to post this however as we all have the same bike... I'm looking for a new helmet. Performance and sound are factors. The safety issue is not my biggest concern, as all helmets should have the DOT rating So I am looking for a full face Would like th...

Re: Exhaust

Thanks for all your imput

Another question: If one installs an after market exhaust like the Ztechnik or Staintune, will I have to adjust the engine. Different back pressure with the new exhaust. I don't think I would have too, but thought I would ask the question
