Thanks for the info on the stain and the QDs. I updated my profile with a location as suggested.

I've been looking for a r1150r. I've seen a couple of them with the stain - circled in red. What causes that? What should I be checking if I'm going to buy one with it?

You could try the compound they use to clear up foggy headlight covers/lens on cars or maybe a finishing compound would be mildly abrasive enough.

I have two options. 2004 R1150R with 18k miles, non-ABS or a 2007 R1200R with 95k with ABS. Both have the same accessories. Both are the same price - $4k.
