Re: looking by buy 2003 R1150R
Just a tip (for those who don't know) for using Google to search an entire site (ie craigslist). I used this to locate my 2 Rocksters last year. Example..to find all R1150R strings put the following in the search box.. site:craigslist.org R1150R

Re: Rockster Headlights? FNG Question....
As Churchill once said about the UK and the USA "Two countries separated by a common language". Large lens is low beam, small lens is high beam. Christchurch is slowly rising from the ashes but they are still having aftershocks. Let's face it, NZ is just one big (beautiful) volcano!!

Re: 2002 1150R won't start
Probably sounds a bit obvious but....(and I did it once, and you never forget).....check that the RHS throttle cable hasn't been yanked onto the lip of the cable holder during cleaning. Your symptoms are exactly what happened to my Rockster after removing the tank and dislodging the cable.

Re: Yet Another New Rockster Owner
You'll LOVE it. I bought one from Ohio in Dec 2004, stored in lock-up in Tucson until Apr 2005. Arrived with friends and collected it ( + Boxer Cup and Kawa Z1000 for them) and rode all around NM, AZ and UT. Great roads up where you are. I currently own a 2004 Ed80 bought from Fife, WA and shipped o...

Re: Looking At a R1150R - Questions
I recently imported 2 low mileage Rocksters into NZ...1 x 6000mls from Alabama, 1x 10000mls from Washington state. Both flawless so far after about 8 months riding. In my opinion it's more important WHERE they were garaged/stored etc than how much use they got. By comparison, some of the Japanese im...

Re: Should I or shouldn't i?
I'm probably going to start a "weight and power war" but...here goes. My Rockster is 248Kg wet. Remove the useless CatCon and heavy stock muffler and drop another 9Kg. My Rockster is now 239Kg wet. The R1200R is 229Kg wet. You could maybe lose 3Kg if you ditch the stock muffler = 226Kg wet...

I'm 99% sure the answer is "No". The RT seats are made to be adjustable, Rockster/1150R is not.

Re: Bar Risers
Hi, I imported an ABS Rockster into New Zealand (from Alabama) that had bar risers on. There seemed to be no problems with cable or wiring length. I think the risers were about 35mm (approx an inch and a half). Maybe check that someone before you hasn't re-routed the cables incorrectly?

Re: Clutch bleeding
BTW, shame on BMW for offering NO INTERNAL REPLACEMENT PARTS for their master cylinders . . . only a $130 full replacement (on the R850R) . . . true even for my 2009 F800ST !! I agree but...shame on Ducati (and any Brembo brake user) for being in the same situation. I am told this is a "Brembo...

Re: Rear brake question
Most rear brakes are about as much use as t..s on a bull. If your front brakes work fine just go and enjoy yourself. As an aside...I'm curious....if your rear brake is indeed "broken", how is it the front still works when supposedly they are linked?? I am no expert, just asking an obvious ...

Re: new rockster owner
You don't need any hooks, the "pad" straps onto either the pillion seat or the plastic "faux seat". The bag clips onto the pad (4 clips). My friend had one exactly like it on his Rockster (with the plastic pad) for many years. I currently have one attached to the rear seat on my ...

Re: new rockster owner
My luggage requirements are simple so I just use a Ventura seatbag. The base just remains on the pillion seat all the time and the bag clips on when needed. You can see it here... http://www.ventura-bike.com/products/seatbag.aspx . If you want more substantial (and expensive) stuff they have this......

Re: 3 Front Brake related questions
You would need to clean up the Pistons. Normally (on a non-ABS bike) you would just use the hydraulic fluid to pump them out of the caliper, clean them up, replace them, renew the fluid and bleed the system. On our ABS bikes, the bleeding procedure is more complicated and I would prefer you wait unt...

Do you have a pic of where this 2nd Load Relief relay II hides? This has been a very interesting thread.

Re: 3 Front Brake related questions
1. The RHS pistons are maybe sticking in their cylinders more than the LHS (see answer #2 below also). 2. Also possibly caused by sticking pistons. 3. This is normal when new pads are fitted, usually pays to drain a little fluid beforehand. Pushing in the pistons forces the fluid back. Did you notic...
