I too would be interested in a group buy if Santa Cruz is willing to do so.

Wunderlich Trophy fairing

Anybody have any updated info of this fairing? Last I heard availability scheduled for December, but nothing since. The aftermarket doesn't seem to be jumping on the R1200R. I wonder if this is because of sales numbers.

Mine is cracked in a major way on the left side(sitting on the seat) and I have been very careful about fitting it on properly after first seeing the design. I don't see any way that it has been reinforced around the hole that the pin fits into. So far the seat is still functional, but still one wou...

I traded my 04 R1150RT for the R1200R. I wanted the new generation boxer engine, something lighter and faster, but also something that I could tour on with my wife. The R1200R is a wonderful motorcycle. For solo BMW riding, I still prefer my R1100S.

What I have heard is that the slip-on alone is $1,000 retail! BMW must sure think a lot of it.

I guess the question of the problem being common or not depends on how one views statistics. There certainly seem to be frequent reports on the different BMW boards about this problem. No matter how often it happens, it is happening too often when riders with $15,000 to $22,000 motorcycles that are ...

There is a lot of discussion on these frequent failures over on the I-BMW.com site (K1200) right now. Interesting times.

. If not you will get stranded on the road. I was stranded in a very remote area when my bike had only 300 miles on it. Once the antenna fails there is nothing, I repeat nothing, you can do to start the bike. Good luck. This does not make me feel good at all. A workaround would be a valuable thing....

Get to your dealer immediately and make sure they replace the antenna/receiver ring around the ignition switch. If not you will get stranded on the road. That's the one I have also. Works like a charm. It is the same one that fits the R1200S as well. BTW, just returned from a two week trip on the R1200R two-up, fully loaded. The bike did well, handled like a dream. We rode in the rain one day and the hugger did a fine job of keeping the rear suspensi...

ShiftTech sells a nice carbon unit. It is the same one that fits the R1200S. Easy to install and you get a 10% discount if you are a member of Ducati.MS or Speedzilla. I think there are also discounts for us BMW types too. If you order ask for the discount at the time of the order. Sorry no pictures...

2 week road trip

:D My wife and I leave on August 4th for a two week trip on the R12R headed to upstate NY to visit her family. I am looking forward to being on the road as always, but also to seeing how this new generation boxer does fully loaded and two-up. Patti really likes the new suspension and says it is a wo...

Is the suspension really that bad. I must be missing something, or maybe people are putting a lot of miles on and wearing out the shocks? I'm expecting 20,000 or more miles before replacement. Seems like a major issue is the color of the shock spring: I believe you can also get black. The purple wi...

Mr. Ave. Just so happened to receive my Wilber's info over the weekend. so... If I am guessing right you purchased model 630 for the front, 640 for the rear, and you added the Preload Adjuster, and passed on the ride height adjuster...or something like that :-k I don't have the info in front of me,...

I am what I describe as an "aggressive sport touring rider". At least this is what I use when I order my shocks :D On this bike, R12R, I ride with my wife two-up about 50%of the time and ordered the suspension with that in mind. I have used Ohlins, Works, Penske, and now Wilbers. For my m...

Just installed a set of Wilbers front and rear. The Ohlins will not be available until the end of August at the earliest. With the better suspension there is a difference of night and day. The Wilbers (formerly Technoflex) are out of Germany and they were delivered set up to my weight and riding sty...
