Re: A matter of the utmost importance...

Black with white stripe never out of style on a BMW Agreed, but if I could color an R1200R from scratch I'd go with the boxer cup colors like this: http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2005models/2005-BMW-R1100S-BoxerCupReplika.jpg But I'd black out the wheels like this: http://www.sportwheel.com/...

Re: Tail bags...low profile, clean looking tail bag

Like Lumpy I have the Kriega US-20 (the 10 too) and I love it. It looks great on the bike, is small enough to tote around on your shoulder all day yet big enough to carry everything I need (gym clothes, shoes, lunch, disc lock, camera and a book or two). Mine is usually found on the luggage rack wit...

Re: City Lids

Corbin seat, city lids, cylinder head protectors, driving lights, a nice fairing....it's almost perfect Harry.
What next?

(love the city lids btw, that will help here in Boston, thanks for the info)

Re: What fits?

You Left Coast guys make me jealous. Sure there's good riding in New England, but the snow will fly soon and my R will be hibernating in the great white north of VT. Enjoy the year round riding and the lane splitting! We'll be enjoying snow shoveling, snowboarding and watching the potholes grow. Best.

Re: SuddenBatteryDeath R12R

The battery may be the bane of R1200R ownership.
I just replaced mine four weeks ago and unfortunately, the bike has been sitting for the last three weeks NOT on a battery tender. Headed out for a ride soon and I sure hope she turns over.

There's nothing worse than no faith in your ride...

My bet is it's the battery.

I just replaced mine a few weeks ago....similar scenario to yours Leonardo.
A new battery was the fix.

Re: Mirror upgrade? Bar end mirror?

Good looking fairing, where did you get it from? Thank you. it's actually the stock sport windscreen. i painted the backside of it with Krylon Fusion paint - made for plastics with no prep. on the front a shaky attempt at pinstriping, recently revised, and a BMW sticker thrown on.... it didn't take...

Re: New BMW roadster! F800R

How to compare the engines... The 800 is snatchy, very fast throttle response, spools up quick, and has plenty of torque all over. It's smooth. It never leaves me wanting, especially off road where more power would be bad thing for me.... but it doesn't pull as hard as the 12R, partly because of th...

Re: New BMW roadster! F800R

Now that looks frikin' cool! Very cool indeed. Joe as someone who's ridden both engines would you be willing to compare and contrast each? I remember in one of your posts you mentioning that after 45,000 miles your R is still cruising, but with 20,000 miles your 800 GS has a few issues. I wonder wh...

OH YEAH!! That's my "other" bike. I've got an '84 that's red, not the blue and I love it. Like yours mine was maintained by a meticulous man and the bike was purchased from the original owner in near showroom condition. The only wear was scratches from the owners boot by the brake lever on...

Re: Photo Project for R1200R owners (PHOTOS on pg 9 of Thread)

I think an ongoing gallery is a great idea. Waking up early to find a spot to take photos for the calendar was a nice little adventure and reminded me how much I like exploring with the R. Also, there are a lot of people on this board who might share some photoshop or photo taking tips in the galler...

Eric V, I'm interested in your mirrors. What's the brand and do they work better than stock mirrors? Hi Rrider, I wrote a little blurb in this mirror post here: http://www.r1150r.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=17817&start=0 In essence, the mirrors are Rizoma and I love 'em. :D Does that help?
