No point as they can still get ethanol free gas up there. I still run non ethanol gas as my local gas station gets their fuel from Canada. Heard this may be changing though.Mollygrubber wrote:For the Canucks on board, available at Canadian Tire, of course...

Re: Bike won't start...
Something to remember when jumping a bike from a car. Most bikes have a battery that delivers about 200 CCA (cold cranking amps) Amps being the amount of current going through the wires. So the system is limited to the 200 Amps that the battery can put out. Most cars have a significantly higher rat...

Re: Really like this farkle but .... could a straight pipe ...?
The boys at the shop are correct. No muffler = better flow. With more flow you'll need more fuel to prevent leaning it out. I doubt the computer makes up for a missing muffler. You'll probably shorten the life if not burn up your motor running like this. Most radical pipe changes require re-jetting ...

Re: My R1200R is no more...
Glad to hear you're OK. These road designs really get my blood boiling. Dirt and tarmac don't mix. A) There shouldn't be an intersection in the middle of the corner. B) They could at least pave the first few hundred feet of that dirt road to keep the gravel off the paved corner. Blah.... That huger ...

Re: BMW Comfort Saddle or Corbin Follow-up
Yes, I meant Bicycle "Shorts". Missed a key. I started wearing them when dirt biking and have since tried them on the street and they work great. They double the time I can spend in the saddle of the R without discomfort.

Re: Aftermarket Exhaust
The stock exhaust is quality and quite. IMO the aftermarket ones look cheap with riveted ends on the can and unnecessarily raises the volume. My neighbors don't need to know when I'm going fast.

Re: 2010 Ducati Multistrada vs R12R
I'm sure glad they build them for tall people. My bike would look pretty stupid with 6 inches of foam taped to the seat.
Ave male height for Germany = 180.2 cm. If you can touch your tip toes all should be good. After all your riding the bike not walking it.

Re: Contaminated front brake fluid
Did you ever take it to the dealer? If so what did they say? I have a 1 year old 2009 model and just noticed the same thing. I think it's rubber powder floating to the top but It's just a guess. I sucked it out with a turkey baster and put in in a clear plastic jug. Soon as I sucked it up it disappe...

Thanks,

I don't see any R's listed here. Maybe it's not up to date?

Any one have pics of the high seat? Thinking of getting one. Is the hump for passenger sill present high version or is it like a bench seat?

Re: R1200R PHOT0 GALLERY
High and dry. Storms all around me with lots of soaked roads but never a drop on me. Can't sit home every time the weather man says it might rain. Got a good 80 mile ride in through the mountains past some ski resorts. Bike got real dirty but the white doesn't show it too bad.

Re: another battery death
I noticed the diagnostics routine that cycles when you first turn on the key leaves lit only the battery symbol until a few seconds after I start the bike. Should the battery symbol still be lit after the speedo diagnostics finish? Starts and runs fine but makes me nervous hearing all the battery is...
