Yes, they will work. You will also have to use the GS shifter & linkage and brake pedal. The R master cylinder will fit but the thingie (technical term) that actuates the brake light switch needs to be modified.

I too, had the ABS flashing lights that would not go out. The battery started the bike just fine, the problem is a design fault from the factory. They use the same mounting location as the R. I found that the stock position on my R cramped my legs too much to be comfortable for long rides.
