After one test ride I was happy to give up my Honda ST1300 for the R. Never mind the fact that I gave up 250 of weight but there is no comparison. BTW I did keep my Triumph Rocket III Touring. It's the family bike for long trips. My wife wouldn't have it any other way.

I used own a Honda ST1300. A great sport tourer. Unfortunately it was too heavy. The R is perfect. Put on an aftermarket windscreen and a Sargent saddle and it becomes a light tourer. The best trade I ever made.

Has anyone figured out a way to mount a Give top box to an R if you have BMW bags on it. Thanks.

I'm considering buying a new R1200R and trading in my Honda ST1300. One of my main concerns is the touring ability of the R1200R. I'd be coming off of a fairing sport tourer onto to a naked bike. The R1200R impresses me as a good all around bike with plenty of power with less weight than the ST1300....
