The FJR is very powerful and stable, much better helmet clearance when carrying a second rider. On the other hand the R seems to handle much better with a much higher peg clearance and a 9" shorter wheel base. I've already hit the pigs twice on the FJR and only did that once in 5000 miles with ...

I sold Out to power!

Purchased a 2004 Yamaha FJR. I still own the R but I don't think I can keep both bikes. The FJR has endless power and runs like a turbine jet. The R feels more like a P51 fighter, I love them both.

Harley Bug Factor

I must be missing something, I see all these Harley Guys riding around with no face protection. When I get back from my Saturday run I have bogs all over my face shield .. what gives.. are these guys just stupid or what?

aerostich one piece roadcrafter

Did not know about the aerostich one piece roadcrafter. Very expensive but I can see how useful this type of suite could be. Thanks

Riding the bike to work

Currently I use my R strictly for weekend blood pressure reduction. I would like to start riding my bike to work but don't know how to handle/protect the business attire, any ideas?

Eye Opening Turn

Over the weekend I dragged the right foot peg while into a tight turn. This was a first for me and it was an eye opener. The R feels so natural on the mountain roads around my home in North Carolina.

The R1150R is my first bike. It's a big bike but a joy to ride. The integrated braking and ABS systems both seem to be a big plus for new bike riders. Be careful and be sure to read up on bike safety and take the the Bike Safety Course in your area. I purchased my bike used with only 250 miles on he...

Center of Gravity

I have the linked brakes also. I wonder if I'm placing the center of gravity to far forward when in turns?

Front Tire Wear

I'm new to riding and just completed my first 3000 miles. It seems that my front tire is warn out but the back tire looks fine. Why is my front tire wearing faster then the back, is this bad riding style?

Fuel Low Warning Light

Today during a nice but cold ride my low fuel warning light came on at 140 miles. Normally the light comes on around 160 miles? I'm wondering why the 20 miles difference? Could the cooler temperature play into lower gas millage?

You other guys feel free to put pictures in here, or tell a story from the trip (as appropriate, "what happens on a trip, stays on a trip"). I had a neat conversation with an older lady before going inside the restaurant Saturday evening. She used to ride with her husband and just beamed ...

Rebuilding the Stock BMW seat

I hate the idea of breaking up the lines of the bike with an aftermarket seat. Has anyone every thought having the seats rebuild with better padding?

Thanks for the encouragement and advise.

Wanted to give you guys an update on my new rider experience... I love it! My first 1400 miles have been a fun learning experience. I've learned the following: 1.The R1150R fits like a glove. 2.Riding with a group is dangerous – I never feel safe at the end of the day.. maybe when I get bette...
