Battery charger

Ok, so it happened to me. The battery on my 2003 R1150R died. Deader than a doornail. I was bummed! Regardless, I purchased a new one, and installed it. Installation went well. About 25 minutes, taking my time. No extra screws left over! Now, what about the battery chargers? I do have the gel batter...

WOO HOO!!!! Got a bike!

It's a beautiful 2003 R1150R in Piedmont Red. First bike for me, and wow, is it ever stable and easy to ride. I've put on 300 miles in the first week, loving every minute of it!

Is your kickstand up?

I recently learned that if the sidestand is down, and the bike is in gear, even with the clutch pulled in, the bike will not start. You have to put the side stand up, or put the bike in neutral.

I have jump started my rockster without taking the seat off and without a plug for the socket....it involved screwdrivers cliped to the jumper cables and another person to bump the starter switch....I would not recommend it, but it was better than pushing it home... I now have a battery tender. Lov...

Plus, you'll still want the Tender...even with the acc. socket installed.
Thanks. It does not have a socket. I was told that I could plug the bike in via this socket, instead of having a tender. Is this inaccurate?

Accessory socket installation

Does anyone have experience installing an accessory socket? I'm picking up a 2003 R1150R this weekend (and tickled pink about it), and was considering this in lieu of the battery tender.

Thanks!
