Ooooh I wish you'd posted your question re: Rockster earlier, I'm just in the process of p/x mine for a KTM 990 Adventure... It's absolutely loaded with extras
Good luck tho', you won't be disappointed... they're ace !
Loved the Bridgestone BT020, but cant get them anymore, so went to the BT021, love them, although not quite as grippy in my opinion as the BT020. I can't *quite* remember as it was some years ago now, but I had 020's on my Speed Triple (955i) and thought they were a little hard; It's so subjective ...
went to the local tyre shop and got prices for both the bridgestones and pirellis. the bt020 have been superceded for bt121 and are worth $329 for the rear and $230 for the front. the stradas are $315 rear, $220 front. the tyre shop guy said he would sell me bridgestone bt 54R for $450 fitted but h...
Well sounds like you've had some fun :) satisfying mod'ing your bike isn't it, and the result after fitting the y-piece 'n Remus can is excellent; have you ridden it yet, noticed any difference apart from everyone covering their ears and running away!! Of course now you'll be buying the power chip w...
thanks for the info on the pirelli stradas, hadnt even considered trying them. how many ks/miles are you getting out of the stradas :?: I'd say something around the 6k miles mark I reckon; they're fantastic in my opinion and have been used in every situation bar a track-day and performed brilliantl...
I bought a second-hand Remus Revolution (Ti) and a new Keihan y-piece... I found it relatively easy to fit with the exception of having to use some stainless band as the existing clamps wouldn't tighten sufficiently. I also found the heel guard wasn't a good fit so adjusted that, which looked much b...
Fifth fuse from the left.....I think it's a 5 amp..... Many thanks :) I've ordered a sticky backed heat shield (genuine BMW part) to prevent any problems with the pannier. I suspect it'll be ok, but as discussed don't want to tempt fate! I'll give the motronic reset a whirl and see how things go. T...
Nice isn't it. :) Both mine have had the Remus Rev on for a time. Currently running stock (MOT last month) because my current Remus doesn't have a baffle (they eventually fall out with a lot of miles). You shouldn't have any MOT trouble IIRC., My Y-piece also broke which is why I'm running the cat....
No, but I am looking at that upgrade. I am in sunny New Mexico - in the sticks - so I don't think the tail pipe sniffers will be too interested in me if some of the factory equipment happened to fall off. (no yearly emission check) Well I can highly recommend it ;) sounds is much much richer. I wou...
Keihan y-piece with Remus Revolution can... Much better sound (even with baffle in) and bike seems more responsive. Just a couple of questions tho' 1. left-hand pannier seems to touch edge of the can; it's titanium and doesn't get too hot, albeit the end 'pipe' obviously does but that's not touching...

If the Airhawk doesn't make you happy, you can send it back to THEM (within 60 days) and they'll refund your money. They can take a bit of fussing with to get the inflation right. You want enough air that you don't bottom out any of the cells as you shift around, but not so much that the air can't ...
The screen is probably higher on my wish list out of the two; so you reckon' the hugger causes more problems that it alleviates Rice? I don't fancy shelling out £170 or whatever it is for something that doesn't do what it's supposed to!! I've also found on longer journeys that the seat becomes prett...
So 2nd hand and mod'ed to fit your bike? There is an offering specifically for the R1150R. The guy from Ilmberger seemed to imply this was the one, albeit that it's designed to fit a slightly narrower tyre...
After this years trip through Europe I've been thinking about a few accessories; Screen and rear hugger... Having looked around the web I've decided to opt for the offering from Ztecnik http://www.ztechnik.co.uk/contents/media/t_ZBMZ2335R1150Rockster_600.jpg Not the most esthetically pleasing thing ...
The ONLY thing a decent home mechanic can't do on the R1150R is test for failure codes on the Motronic system - everything else is pretty basic stuff tbh. If you don't have ABS then home servicing is the way ahead. :) Unfortunately, decent, home and mechanic , is an oxymoron as far as I'm concerned...
This is something I've been looking into also... My local dealer is actually shutting down (altho' a new one is opening up slightly further afield) but even before I heard about this I shelled out approx. £330 for a (2nd) annual service + MOT which just seemed criminal to me. Having spoken to a few ...
Any ideas / thoughts on how often you should changes your helmet? I've been told that the ACU sticker on the side of your lid, which is split into four perforated sections, should be used as a guide. You tear on section off for each year and then at the end of the four years you should toss it. Thin...
