Best Mail Order Dealer for parts

What do you guys think, which is the best dealer to order from for parts when it comes to prices and reliability?

If you are not in a hurry, Chicago BMW is the best because of the discount. Also, I found that I get better results if I call them instead of using the internet. They are very busy, and it can take them a while to get you your parts.

No personal experience - I work at a BMW dealer - but I hear that Chicago BMW is best for price and Bob's BMW is very good for promptness and parts in stock.

I like Bob's BMW in Maryland and have been ordering from them for about 12 years. They may not be the cheapest but they have the best customer service I've ever seen.

When I first got my 2002 1150R and needed bags, an internet shopbot sent me to Bob's in MD. It was in total $100 below retail. I remember a wonderful first big ride there, 180 or so miles and put them on in the parking lot. Good thing as one bag was the wrong one. Didn't fit. It must have been an RT bag. Parts lady took a long time to get straightened out and give me the correct bag. The R1150R was brand new then, so they are allowed strike one. Really nice modern place. A 2-wheel BMW free mini museum on display.
Years later I stumbled on Chicago BMW and didn't believe they were -20%. Called the 1-800 number, found out they really were -20% for genuine BMW parts and that the service was good. No sales tax. An 8 or 9 dollar shipping/handling fee. In all my 3 orders since then there was delivery in 7 days or less, no mistakes and customer friendly, knowledgeable, jovial people on the phone line.

If I have time I think Chicago is great, But Bob's is fast and they will take back any item no questions asked. For most items I go to Bob's they are only 180 miles away, great ride. They are the best as they have almost every item I have ever needed for both the 78S and the RR. Yes, they are almost full retail but they have aftermarket items that save you money, if they sell those items you can be guaranteed they are a good substitute.

The few times I've been looking for new parts and 'internet shopped' Chicago, the final price came out so close to my local dealers, I stuck with them. After adding in the shipping, you lose some of the 20% discount and in my cases, it wasn't worth the waiting time for shipping. Plus, I always like going to the dealer to poke around and see what's new.
BTW, one of my local dealers is Bobs BMW, and the other two give great customer service also....and it's a good reason to go for a ride! I use whoever is open, and has the parts I need in stock.

Another very good online parts source is Hammersley BMW, at
http://www.webparts.com/cycles/main.html.
They're located in Lynchburg, VA, and combine the parts fiches of Max's and A&S with a pricing structure much less than retail, closer to or often equaling Chicago BMW. They also ship overseas, for those so located.
Chicago's got some good deals, but are among the slowest human beings on the face of the earth, and don't much seem to care either...
I, for one, have "quit their club" for good.
