New BMW Dealership in the Northwest (Portland)

Post by ebincia »

BMWOR of Eugene Oregon is opening another store in Tigard. IMO the BMWOR folks are a class act. I believe the grand opening is this weekend 4/14/07.
The link has more information and a map.

The open house for BMWOR Tigard is this weekend, the 14th and 15th. BMWNA will have their demo truck there with demo bikes to take on rides. :D I am told they should have all models available to try out. The shop itself is already open and bikes are rolling out the door already. The shop really is something to behold, it is just awesome. I would encourage eveyone to stop by and support the new shop. Others are complaining about dealers closing and we get to have a new one! And no, I dont work for them, I just appreciate good dealers and nice people.

I will be there this weekend with my group of cronies.
Looking forward to a BMW dedicated dealer here in my neck of the woods.
A strong, dedicated dealership has the potential to be the hub for action.
Closer to my home as well.

Maybe I will meet some of you there?

Wife and I will look for you. With any luck the rain will hold off and we will ride there. Wife does not like to ride in rain, so if it is raining, will be 2 up or gasp, in the car! How ever we get there, I want to take out a GS and one of the F800's. Beeming, we need to get you to one of our breakfast rides. Info on the group ride page or the BMWRO yahoo group

I am guessing that we will be there Sat afternoon. This is a big PDX BMW event...we could be there on Sunday as well.
I will ride rain or shine...just because.

My bike as you know is a Black R . My Husband is a Tall, good looking guy on a Yellow GS.

I would love to join you on one of your breakfast rides.

We will make that a priority this season!

See you there.

:) Sweatmark and I went to the open house this morning. Took a K12R for a 2-up test ride, too. Sweatmark is not allowed to ride one again  It lets out the animal in him -- unlike his Rockster :D

AWESOME dealership and showroom -- we may ride up on Sunday, too.

SitR--we would like to meet up with you and your wife sometime! Would be nice rather than just passing up the I-5!! Let us know if you will be there!

Sillyjax, I think we missed you today. We were there from about 1130 until after 5pm. Saw a blk R along side a whit and blk Rockster parked out back of the building, was that you guys? We did meet and introduce ourselves to JustBeeming and found out they live just over the hill from us. I dont think we will be there Sunday, too dangerous; we would end up leaving with a new bike if not two. We both rode a 12GS for the first time and both liked it. The power difference is unbelievable. I can only imagine what a 12R would be like! We did take the F800's out on a test ride also. I rode the F800ST and my wife rode the F800S. Nice little bikes, but I would not give up my R for one.

SitR and Wife
It was nice to meet you both. Nice to see you again on the ride home....We had stopped for lunch. We saw an R and that great looking Guzzi go by....knew it was you. We Do live over the hill, in Hillsboro. We MUST get together to ride. Couples who ride are really fun to get to know.
We would love to join one of your breakfast rides. We will be on a Ride to Phoenix during the next one but perhaps in May.
We LOVE the new dealership. It was like going to Disneyland!
We will return on Sunday as we both want to ride some bikes and meet up with some friends.
Sweatmark and Sillyjax, we will have to look for you.

Disneyland is one way to put, a candy store is another. Either one would leave you with more money in your pocket though! I could have just walked through and said oooh, I'll take one of those and one of those and one of those, well you get the idea. I managed to control myself though and only bought some oil, a shirt and a hat. May have to do some number crunching on a GS though!

Beeming, after you two get back from your trip, we shall have to meet for lunch or something and figure out what all of our schedules are like and do some riding. Always looking to add to the group of people to bum around with.

We went back to the Dealer today...(Sunday). We both rode k1200's I rode the R and my husband rode the S. It was a lot of fun. A lot of power and the bike literally felt like it was on a rail. Saved our money for now however.
I am just so tickled to have them here.

We met up with some of the BMWomen.com. that I converse with fairly rgularly. Many of them were husband and wives that both ride their own.

We will meet up for lunch after our Vegas Trip and do some riding.

Over all it was a bike-fest kind of weekend!

SitR --
YES! Sweatmark and I were the bikes you mentioned. We missed you both!! We met up with our Airhead riding buddies to ride, eat, and be merry! I rode on a K12R with Mark -- an AWESOME bike!

What bike did your wife end up getting? Was it a Breva?

Just Beeming --
It would be very cool to get the BMW couples riding together! Keep us in the loop on when you ride so we can consider trips with you all. Also, did you know that Mr. Ed's Moto's (Albany, OR) wife, Deb, gets the BMW women riders together for rides, too. Just had the first one today (I missed due to errands)....email me if you want her email address for riding. The more women riders, the better!

Sillyjax, yes my wife got a 750 Breva, but I think its days are numbered. She has a couple hundred miles on it and it has done wonders for her confidence and skills. She has also ridden mine several times now, and like the power of it vs the Breva. She has also ridden the F800S and a R1200GS and did great on both models. I think we would both love to get GS's so we can do some trail riding and camping, but finances wont even contemplate that, so we are tentatively looking for an R for her.

OH MY Gawsh! This is so much fun planning all the riding we could do and the freindships that await. Yes, I know Deb and met up with her and several of the BMWomen.com forum. I would definately love to do some riding with you all.
Mr Beeming and I are junkies to this riding. It's what we do.
I had a sad feeling when I got on my R last night to come home....I quietly thought you gutless hunk of metal. After testing the K1200 R it was just so...Klunky. Awwww what have they done to me...oh the humanity

As tempted to buy as we are...The honesty of it all is that we have a big vacation planned on the bikes for this year. This is not time to buy and break in a new one.

But it would be fun!!!!

SitR1150R,,,You should check the used market for an R for wife....or buy a new GS and pass her yours. It is a sweet looking bike.

Ever since she rode mine on a ride a month or so ago, long story, we have been half heartedly watching the various boards, post, fourms etc for a used R for her. I would love to get a GS and pass mine to her, but she wants her own, not a hand me down and she wants black. Its all good. If we can find her one then we can ride around on a pair of R's and when the time comes, and the finances allow then we can decide which way to go. The truth is, the R is just a fun bike and does it all. Okay, so it wont cruise down a dirt road and the mud it does not like, but how much of that in all honesty would I or we do on a GS, not much. The R is a commuter bike and a fun weekend bike. Put bags and everything on it and you can cruise all day. Yes the new 1200 motor is awesome, but the R is a great all around bike.

I am embasassed that I would even mention that! Of course she wants her own. When I got into this 'passion' I did too. After seeing Mr Beeming you know I could never fit into anything 'hand me down' he could give me....not even socks. ha

Let Mrs SitR know that She looks very confident on her Guzzi. Even tho she wants an R....
And Black...well it is just faster.

SitR115R-
There was an 2002 Black R1150R, less than 10k miles, with bags, hi/lo seat and touring windshield listed on Craigs for a pittance $6500. I will have to find the add and email it to you tomorrow. I have two coworkers I was talking to on Friday (more, I was convincing them to go with BMW) and one of them spotted the ad and emailed it to me. Worth checking out.

You gotta love the R, Just Beeming! Sweatmark tested the K12R (with me on the back), and was immediately transformed like Jekyll & Hyde. It was scary! I had to remind him of the Oregon 100mph rule just to bring him back from insanity  . Where are you going for your trip this year? We decided to take a break from a long trip this summer and do a LOT of short weekenders...Northern Cal and anywhere surrounding - and in - Oregon. We have so much in this state to explore!!

Due to some changes at work, major ones, I really dont know what trips or vacations I may be able to get, if any. We toured 20 of the covered bridges last year, I would like to get out and try to visit the other 30 or so. I would also like to visit all of the Oregon Lighthouses. Too, would like to do a trip to family in central California, Chief Joseph, any rides BMWOR puts on, did the four corners ride last year and had a blast, well until the free range rock incident. So many rides, so many roads, so little time, stinking work getting in the way!

We leave Friday...yes...Friday (can't wait) for Vegas. This is just a short trip down and back for a conference. Mr Beeming gets to do more riding on down to Phoenix after he drops me in 'LostWages'...where A few thousand partying oncology nurses are turned loose on the town.

Then we plan weekend rides. We have Rally plans at John Day, Menlo, and in The Dells, Wisconsin. We might take in the camp out between the Washington and Oregon riders at the end of May as well.

In September we are taking our biggest trip to date.....31 days and traveling to Portland Maine....From there we think we will travel south through New England, into Virginia (supposed to be great riding) eventually into Kentucky/Tennessee and then angle back through the West with a stop in Colorado to see some special little kids.

I just started touring like this last April. I thought...let me do just one long trip and see what I think.... I was hooked. I got home from that first trip and started planning for the next!

....and on it goes for me.
What I really love about it, (besides everything)...is that my mind gets to take a vacation...I work with people with Cancer....ugh. I love what I do but I need a break from it ...a complete and total mental break.

Jobs....they bite! But they fund for my obsession!

The R is perfect. Go naked, or go loaded for touring....She performs like a champion.

Just Beeming! Whew! I understand the need for breaks.

Mark (Sweatmark on this board) is going to go to Chief Jo, with one of our Airhead riding friends, while I take a necessary break with the cute little one (my avatar) to Colorado to see family. Sorry to miss you, but we WILL get together and do some riding with others this year -- a MUST.

I am getting the courage to scout out on my own -- just have also had the work thing get in the way.

GodSpeed to you in your adventure East and back! What a fun time!! Don't forget to sign up for the BMWMOA's Mileage Contest -- Poor Oregon riders last year! We need some good riders to represent this state in next year's publication!!! If you need some signers, I would be happy to!
