Tire repair

Post by dpalavage »

Guys and gals...a general question. I've never had a tire punctured until just recently. A Nail. Not near the sidewall. I "temporarily" fixed it with a "plug". My question: Can this tire be repaired sufficiently? Or do I need a new tire? I'm told that my dealer will probably try to sell me a new rear tire...and then a new front tire to go w/ my new rear tire. Am I being sold a bill of goods here? Just wondering what you guys who have experienced this think...thanks..

I would not hesitate in getting a bike shop to do a professional fix.

They will glue in a large head mushroom type plug from the inside and it will be fine for the life of the tire.

That's what I would do.
