OK JCsman, how 'bout Tech beating Duke and NC in Bball?

Unranked Tech downed #5 Duke and #1 North Carolina within a span of 8 days. Incredible considering where VA Tech has been in basketball. Even our football team has never defeated a first ranked team in football. You were saying how boring football is. If the Hokies keep this up, you might be right!

I am not JCsman but that is certainly a good run for your Hokies! I can root for all ACC teams against either of the 'blue' teams! Congrats.
My Wolfpack made Wake look bad this weekend. Not such a great accomplishment this year. When have we ever heard Wake fans saying 'when does football start' this time of year?

Football boring?
I guess I might have said that in a moment of weakness. I love
college football, but have had to adopt teams. My school team, the KU Jayhawks are - on a good year - also rans. No one who saw the Boise State game could say college football is dull.
That being said - I do prefer college B'Ball, a thinking man's sport. Glad you're seeing the light!
I NEVER have a bad thing to say when the Dukies of the Tarheels lose! Go Hokies. Plus my beloved Jayhawks are on a roll (we just had a close call at Iowa State - a terrific home court team, but prevailed) and I'm 12 minutes from watching them play arch rival Mizzooooooo.
From now through March Madness (even into April) I will watch more sports than the rest of the year combined....ahhhhh, bliss - unless we lose in the first round again.

You said it back on Nov 10th in MikeCam's WVU thread.
"I'm with you Gypsy...football is a bore....Now that basketball season has begun!"
Duke and UNC stink at football, but they're Bball powers that dominate year in and year out. Anytime you beat them is worth remembering. I tell you what. Butch Davis will turn the Tar Heels around in football. Will Wake Forest continue its rise? We may see these traditional Bball powers become consistently good in football. I just hope VA Tech becomes consistently good at basketball.

Football is not a bore. I was watching the Hula Bowl and noticed that there must have been at least 750 people in the stands.

Oh

well

yeah

uhhhh by comparison with BASKETBALL, hell yes.
And you are absolutely right. Beating Duke or UNC is a feat anytime. Taking them both down in one year - YeeeeHawww. Now if you can managed to knock 'em both out of the NCAA tournament, I'll be eternally thankful.
And FWIW, we managed to defeat Mizoo last night (but barely

, and at home).
