BMW R1200R R1150R/T F800 K1200R R1100R/T R1250R RnineT Message Board

I got home tonight to find a UPS box from BMW Motorrad on the side porch. Inside I found a bunch of cool swag:

-- A sturdy, leatherette box with the Motoman logo and BMW Motorrad embossed "for your motorcycle papers and receipts." About the size of a large shoe box. Very nice, very elegant.

-- A very heavy and very cool R32 Lucite paperweight "available nowhere else in the world." It is very, very cool. Smudges easily, though. I don't know how the hell they did it, but it is a lovely 3-D image of BMW's first motorcycle. Did I say very cool? I'd have easily paid $50 for it.

-- A nice, zippered leatherette map case, with a BMW roundel and BMW Motorcycles on it. Inside were a BMW spiral note pad, a small map of the US with all of the dealers marked on it, a nice little plastic ballpoint pen with a roundel on the clip and dealer directory.

-- A map measurement tool. I haven't figured out how exactly to work it yet. No hurry.

-- A DVD with racing and historical footage "never seen in the US." Haven't seen it yet, so it still hasn't been seen in the US. Or in Austin, anyway.

-- A nice little hardcover book, "BMW Motorcycles: The Evolution of Excellence" by Kevin Ash. Looked nicely produced, but the R1200R is not in it. $30 at Whitehorse Press.

-- A decent leather key fob with a BMW roundel in it that sells for $15 at Sierra BMW.

Also included was the roadside assistance card and policy. I haven't put my lawyer eyes on it yet, but will advise (entirely unofficially, of course).

I don't remember anything like this when I bought my last Beemer. It's a nice touch.

Dang! You got this stuff because you bought ar1200R? If so I should be getting one also maybe , I hope.

How long ago did you make the purchase?

Man, I didn't any of that cool stuff. But I did get $2k off the price...

I picked up my bike on Oct. 10, Mark.

I didn't get mine till mid November. I may just have to wait.

Yeah, its for the 07s. I would rather have had a couple of tools, but the stuff is cool. Awaiting ours for Mary's new R12S.

I got mine yesterday. Just as Alan said "Nice Touch" I was impressed by the qaulity of everything even the leather like boxes.
I don't know what I'll do with most of it, closet I guess.
I am finding that I much prefer being special to not being special.
