Tank pad

Hi, I'm new on this forum so let me introduce myself. I'm Ronald and live in the Netherlands and just own a black R1200R for a week now. It's nice to see there's alreay a lot of other R1200R owners around here. I realy love the bike and it was just what I looked for after the S.
What I would like to know is if there's a nice tankpad for the R1200R already or a pad that just fits very well with the lines of the tank. On the old S I used to have a pretty standard cf job but this would be to big on the R in my opinion and as you are sitting more straight up the tankpad doesn't need to be that big imo.Also would like to know if there's somekind of fotothread with bikes of other forum members.

Great colour bike.
A universal tank pad should be available from any bike shop.
My 1150R just has a stick on carbon fibre look one, and looks OK.
Enjoy the ride.

Thanks Johno. Will have a look around at the local bike shops but all I've seen so far are a little to long(imo) and more suitable for racers.

Thanks for the links. The 2 piece Oxford tankpad is about the size I'm looking for so will look into that one a little further.

Welcome Skippy! Great pic of a great bike. So, the journey begins for aftermarket items....right now it's an egg hunt since our bike is soooo new.

. Yes aftermarket parts are still hard to find but a lot of things from other R models will work too. Have seen nice exhaust systems though like the remus powercone(in stainless or titanium) and a carbonfiber one by Bos.

Hi Skippy!
You said that you had an S befor the RR. I just made the same change but havent got my RR yet. Is it a good change?? Have i done the right move?

For me it was a great move. Ergo's are mutch better as I had the S with the low bars I found it hard on the shoulders and wrist after a couple of hours driving esspecialy at slow speeds(at witch I didn't use to travel but due to the police clamping down on speeders in an insane way over here in Holland I'm forced to keep speeds down a lot). The R is mutch nicer if you just wanna tour due to the upright seating position it's mutch easier to look around and my shoulders and wrist aren't straind the tiniest bit. If you wanna switch from touring and do some blasting the R is great to as it is faster then the S(only lower top speed I presume) and feels less dead witch ads to the excitement(the front on the R moves a lot under hard accalerating as the S always felt as straight as a board). Also steering and handling mutch lighter and the engine is realy smooth and powerfull. Brakes are the best I've ever felt and with ABS very reinsuring(without ABS they could be a bit scary with so mutch power under less then perfect conditions). All in all you can tell I'm realy pleased and I think you also made the wright choice as it is a true multi purpose bike in the way the S was and the new S isn't with in my opinion is better in every area apart from the looks(according to some but personally I also like the looks a lot). Let me know what you think of the R(when you have it).
