Seems alot of you'all are reading these posts and that is a good thing. Its good to see that many have an interest in the newbie R1200R. There may be a bunch of negative opinions, Oil cooler, Telelever, etc.... But the thing REALLY is a BLAST to ride........OK, they (BMW) could have put a few more $$$ into it, AND made the entry price a bit better...and,,,,and,,,,and,,, Just ride one. You'll see.

I am afraid to ride it. I know what will happen.
I really like my 1150, and it will be 100% mine in a few months.

We're just jealous. Everything I've read indicates it is a great handling bike. And if ya want narly , bad ass looks for your machine, get a K1200R !!

I can't agree more! The R1200R is a blast to ride and the ergo's are spot on for me. Also love the looks(better then the pictures imo) and the power,easy handling and light weight(compared to my old R1100S). Do miss the sound of the open Laser system though with cat. replacement pipe.
Sadly there's been nothing but rain and storm over here in the Netherlands but the weekend is looking to be good. Nice to see there's already a forum with a couple of R1200R owners can't wait till the aftermarket is getting into the R more. Right now though I don't want for mutch all though the new Remus Powercone exhaust looks rather tasty but there aren't many details yet as I wonder if it will work with the system cases.

One of the things about buying a brand new bike the first year of it's production is that there will be no deals on used parts anywhere.
It was all my dealer could do ( after 10 minutes of looking ) to find the BMW tank bag for my bike anywhere on the internet. And all I could do to get him to order it for his stock without first swearing I would buy it.
Whew! It's hell!

Yeah that's the price you pay I guess. Luckely I already aranged for a 20% discount on the BMW panniers when I've got the bike and this will be for the whole off 2007. First wanted to try the bike a bit more before getting the luggage as I won't need it before the next holiday season next year. Also saw some handy tankbags that coild also hold a GPS unit but not sure if they will fit the R though.
Exhaust aftermarket will be up and running though pretty soon for the R so no worries there. Also a couple of German firms are putting out some stuff that's nice like caps to cover some off the holes in the frame and stuff like that.
