Anybody watching 'Feasting on Asphalt'?

I imagine some of us Beemerphiles are also foodies who watch Food Network from time to time. One of Food Network's more interesting fellas is Alton Brown. He's got a new show called Feasting on Asphalt which is basically a road trip/find wierd foods across the US type of show. The crew consists of 4 BMW bikes and a support truck romping around the backroads of the US looking for interesting places and things to eat. I think the 4 bikes are 2 R1200RTs and 2 R1200GS's. Its quite a good show, like a tame, US only, Long Way Round kinda thing.
Aside from the pig brain sandwiches they found in Indiana, the last episode featured their first real drama with the bikes. One RT, lo and behold, developed a gasoline leak. Guess what part failed? You got it.
The guy who seemed to be the mechanic of the bunch insisted that all the bikes carry spare quick connects, so they were able to repair and get back underway quick enough, but I had to laugh (more like dryly chuckle) when I heard the rider of the broke bike complain about 'gas all over my right leg, thought It was gonna blow up'.
Why BMW doesn't recall and replace every one of those lousy parts is beyond me. Someone's gonna get seriously burned or worse.
Anyway, good show, might wanna check it out.

I saw that!

They were on the top of Pike's Peak and the gas clamps on his bud's GS went kaput.

I had to chuckle out loud when he said:
"Luckily, I brought a new set of quick disconnects"

I better order those soon for My R

It is a good show though, of course I watch "Good Eats" too.

I've been watching it. It's fun. But, it looks like Alton really does feast on some asphalt in the next part. Wondering how much "off road" experience he has. That's a lot of bike & stuff for dirt track.

Well.... the final episode we saw Alton go down HARD on some thick gravel. Claims he was 'avoiding a squirrel'. Broke his shoulder and got pretty messed up, but finished the show travelling in the support truck. His RT lost a few crucial bits as well.
Moral of the story...... run over the squirrel. They are small.

It was really pretty funny . . . . him riding shotgun in two police cars with two very jolly, quite overweight LEO's that spent the day overeating mass quantities of unhealthy Diner food.
I thought the last 2 episodes were the best ones, and he wasn't even riding the bike!

The crash looked like the front wheel washed out in the center road's deep soft sand as he was changing sides. Another parallel rut accident.
