Shipping from Nashville to New York City. Does anyone have a company they recommend? I'm seeing prices of around $450 +-$50. There is also a shipper called Forward Air that does airport to airport crate transfer. Anyone used them with success?

I've heard horror stories about Forward Air. It can take up to two weeks for a container to become available. You have to deliver it to the airport, drain gas, disconnect battery, strap it down using YOUR straps, etc. When I sold my Moto Guzzi to a guy in Alabama, he used
http://www.motorcycleshippers.com/ They showed up with a moving van, strapped it to a skid, covered it, and took off. They give tracking info on the webstie too. He paid $499 about three months ago. Just checked and its up to $573. Damn gas prices!

I used motorcycleshippers.com (AKA JC Motors) in 2004 to ship my Rock from Washington state to New Hampshire. I believe it cost me something like $700. It took a little longer than I hoped, 2 weeks I think, but it showed up in perfect condition. I would use them again.

I used Allied. No problems. My Triumph went from Philadelphia, PA to Sacramento, CA., showed up safe and sound and on time.
I think cost was 700 bucks. Three years ago.

Don't park the bike on the center stand if packed in a create or container.
Guys I know did a trip to Canada..and on the way back they must have dropped the container..and the bikes on their center stands were badly damaged.
