Arai XD - any feedback?

Post by bikermeow »

Think about picking up this Dual Purpose helmet. figured that the sun-peak will come in handy. Arai loves vents, so much so that some of the AdvRiders complain that it's too noisy!

Here's a review of it ...

Any views from R riders?

Cheers

I have one. Its a good helmet overall but NOT for highway use. The "sun-peak" will put alot of preasure on your neck on your way to the trails. However the sun peak is very easy to remove and install.

I love mine.
Venting is excellent.
The visor is great fior city riding. It will strain your neck above 80 mph, but come off in 3 minutes.
I get almost zero fogging on hot or cold rainy days. This is the reason i bought it.

I love this helmet.

Note. if your riding is more highway than city, you might find the extened front too noisy for long touribng.
Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.

I was thinking of this helmet to wear on my KLX250S dual purpose. I have to ride 50 miles(mostly highway) to the nearest legal offroad trail. The regular fullface helmet is obviously fine on the superslab but once at the trail, it is too cumbersome and hot; not to mention that other offroaders look at you like you have two heads.....

Is this helmet OK for 50 miles on the highway?
