640 mile and I have a large screw in my rear tire. Just wondering if I should replace it with the original or swap them both out for something better?
Do tell.

I've done a roadside fix and it lasted 2000miles untill I got the tyre replaced.
Same thing happened to me

1600 miles and a screw in the back tire. This happened on my CBR 600 a few years back. I thought about the plug, but decided to replace the tire. My dealer cut me a deal on the new tire (Matt at Bloodworth is great), and I opted to be safe rather than sorry.

Finally got the bike to the dealer for a new tire. If the would have charged me retail it would have been almost $300.00 do to the fact that I have no centerstand and an engine spoiler. Thanks for the advise. I am glad to be back on the road.

Tire/wheel insurance. Check with your dealer. You can get it for 'previously owned' motorcycles. Cost me $250 for 5 years of coverage. Hearing that the Rockster's wheels are kind of soft, and the wheels are +$500 each, I invested.
I got "screwed" a couple weeks ago, turning into a new housing development. (Hubby got screwed too, his just showed up earlier, cause he rides to work more often.) I've got tire/wheel insurance. Covers damage from stuff in the road that should not have been there.
The requirement is that the tech provide a measurement of the tread depth as compared to new tire tread depth. You get reimbursed for the percentage of use...
My Z6 rear had 5/32" left compared to 6/32" so I should get MOST of my $250 back.
