Newbie & looking for a rockster

Post by macp »

First of all just wanna say hi, the forum looks great.
I used to have a 2004 BMW 1150GS Adventure which was a great bike but too big and heavy so I swapped to a VFR800 VTEC and to be honest I was dissapointed.I have just sold it and I decided to look around to see what else was available. My budget unfortunately is now a little tight :(
so initially I was looking at the R1150R but I so much more want the Rockster.Im sure the R is a superb bike but in my personal opinion the Rockster looks a lot funkier. The other point is that my GS ADV had a twinspark engine and no surges but the R I believe does not have this engine.Anybody selling a Rockster and would you recommend the Rockster over the R. I hope I haven`t just opened any wounds. :)

I own an R1150R Roadster...I think the Rockster is a better bike for a number of reasons.

I comes down to what you like...I like the look of the Roadster with it's big round headlight..but others don't.

It's about what you like...and what you can get a good deal on...they're both great bikes.

Welcome aboard.

All of the Rocksters came with the later 2-sparks engines. Some of the later Roadsters come with the 2-sparks engines.

I like the funky color of the Rockster and the slightly better suspension too. I wish that it has more power though. BMW should have taken the engine from the R1150RT and put it in the Rock.
Cogito Ergo Vroom - I think therefore I ride.

Do it yourself...

R1150RT cams, inlet manifolds, and a K1200RS fuel pressure regulator would make a good start. ;)

(I've seen an R1150 GS with mods like this (and a bit more), and it f***ing FLEW)
Non quod, sed quomodo.
