First off, as usual, I want to say that this board is one of the best out there. It has always been informative and entertaining.
Last week I brought my beautiful customized 1150 to Manhattan BMW for a new battery and oil change. I am wandering around the showroom and I begin to stare at 3 K1200s's on the floor.
You guessed it. I am picking up a new K1200S in blue and white next week. If anyone is interested I can try to write a mini comparision review after I get it take it for a ride.
I hope to still see those of you at the EAR in NYC and maybe hook up with some riders here and on Long Island.
Once again, this board and its members have been great and I look forward to meeting some of you this spring.

Nice one Bobby...so did you trade that beautiful RR of yours in on the new S or did you sell it privatly...your RR was one of the best I've ever seen.
Congrats on the new bike.

Bobby A,
Didn't you post some pictures of your Roadster a year or so ago? You created a really distinctive R1150R, and I'm curious to see what you might do with your new K1200S. Enjoy your new ride!

I would be interested to hear what they gave you for trade in. My bike did not fair well a few weeks ago. R bikes are hard to move compared to GS and RT where I live.
R bikes seem to depreciate steeply then bottom out around $4-5k and hold their resale value like all BMWs. Excellent value for the buyer, but not really for the seller who tries through dealer.

Hi BobbyA! That was a nice looking bike you had there!
I just recently got my 02 Roadster and would like get some "add-ons" to it. Since I'm quite new to the board, I didnt get the chance to see your earlier pics and what you've put on your bike.
If you still have them on file, mind emailing them to me at
[email protected] ?
Thanks!

Hey Bobby - enjoy your new ride! You had a sharp looking Roadster though! You can still hang out here. We need pics of the new one too.
I went to that dealership last year on my first visit to New York City. My wife and I walked from Carnegie Hall to the dealer and back. Quite an experience for a redneck from NC.

Thanks guys

Thanks guys for the nice words. I traded the bike in and they paid off my balance $6600 and added another $2000 towards the new purchase.
I was willing to sell it privately but when I had it posted here in the 'for sale' section only one guy called me and he was in California.
My personal situation financially has improved as I am retiring from the NYPD as a second grade Detective and have landed a great new job. So the new salary combined with my pension adds up to ummmmm a new bike for me! : )
I have posted the old pics of the mods. The bike really was cool and unique. As far as mods on the new bike, well I have been in touch with Joel from the old BMWNY and we already have some great ideas.
If its OK I would like to share those also with this board.
Thanks,
Bobby A
PS For those in the NYC area thinking of making a deal with BMW of Manhattan give me a heads up, as an aspect of the deal really bothered me and almost killed it. Better to be forwarned.

Bobby, I should've seen your pic before I had my seats re-upholstered to a carbon fibre look. I like the rear seat body color fabric. It makes your bike look like a single seater. Really nice!
Wonder how your Two Brothers sound like?
Now about your "other ride" ....what can I can say!

The bike was delivered Saturday and we are now in the midst of a huge blizzard.
Its nice to look at though : )
I still have the BMW 1150R tankbag so if anybody wants it just make a fair offer and its yours.
