BMW R1200R R1150R/T F800 K1200R R1100R/T R1250R RnineT Message Board

I recently bought a slightly used 2004 R1150R. Really enjoy the bike but, like a few others that have posted here, would like to change out the stock front fender to something a bit more conventional. Any suggestions as to any aftermarket products that can be purchased here in the U.S., or other BMW fenders that will fit without modification. Someone said a K1200RS fender fits perfectly - can this be confirmed? I found a fender made by Wunderlich on their UK website [www.wunderlich.co.uk] - part no. W-BR02, but they don't ship out of the UK. Any US distributors that sell this part? Any suggestions or leads would be appreciated. Thanks.

what color is your bike. I am looking for an unblemished piedmont red front fender. I got a few scratchs on mine right after I got it.

Thanks for the tip on the BMW Santa Cruz site. For some reason the Wunderlich catalog won't download for me, but I I'll follow up. Is the fender I mentioned in there? Regarding color, the bike is Ferro Metallic (basically, blue). Sorry.

The rockster front mudguard will fit. And the Rockster guard is the same as the one on the R1100S I think.

I might be wrong but I don't think it will fit...it's a different fork.

Might want to think thru carefully ... the beak is designed to channel air to the oil coolers, any change ought not to disrupt the air-flow.

You're right in that's what BMW claims (at least, I think I've seen that too). But it's not on the Rockster?!

Nope, the Rockster has no beak. It has the same front guard as the R1100S. And no, the Rockster does not overheat! Maybe the beak does channel some air, but BMW obviously felt whatever marginal improvement in cooling the beak offers, it is not really necessary or the Rockster would not be beakless; if you follow me.

I wouldn't be concerned changing front guards on the R1150R.

1 Rockster fender won't fit w/o different mounts (Rockster has R1100S forks)

2 K1200RS fender will fit

3 R1150RS fender will fit (see Rivi777's post)

4 Beak doesn't do squat as far as cooling - pure style.

Thanks for all the info. After much consideration, I decided to go with the Wunderlich fender and it's at the body shop for paint. Pick it up tomorrow. Was hoping it would look good, and now am pretty confident it will after seeing dilligaf's pics of his in black. I'll post a pick when it's on the bike. Next up - replacing the stock exhaust with the Remus Revolution Titanium can and Remus y-pipe.

Speaking of fenders, does anyone know which fender is on this R1150R on the Wunderlich site?

It does not seem to be the Wunderlich carbon fiber fender, the K1200RS or the R1150RS (but close). Any ideas?

I don't know the answer to your question but I'm thinking that they may have lowered the headlight to avoid that large gap between the headlight and fender if you use a normal type front fender.
