Bike starts conks out when throttle turned

Hi All
In need of some help as cannot work out what is happening as the bike will start and run but soon as you turn the throttle it conks out as if a sensor is stopping it but don't no which one

Possibly the old chestnut- ensure that your throttle cables are correctly seated in the brass ferrules.

Simple stuff: Does it rev in neutral? If so...is the side stand up?

Max welcome to the board!
Give us more info if you can. Year of the bike, mileage, service history etc. Maybe a bit more on the problem too. Is the engine dead cold when this happens? If you let it idle a minute or two to warm a bit does it still die? Will it go above idle if you roll the throttle very slowly?
