New Kawasaki Sport Touring Bike

Post by dallara »

According to Motorcycle News, Kawasaki may soon have an all-new sport touring mount in the marketplace...

http://www.motorcyclenews.com/nav?page= ... _NEW-BIKES

Here's some of their info snipped:
Kawasaki held the official launch of its 06 range in Paris on Thursday and amid all the bikes that we’ve already shown you they revealed sketches of a new sports tourer destined for launch next year.
The new bike is a development of the ZZR-X concept bike that the firm previewed a couple of years ago and is expected to rival the likes of Yamaha’s FJR1300.
The firm didn’t release any more details about the bike.
Here's a couple of pics:

Going to be a lot of fully-faired, adjustable windscreen, super-sports touring bikes out there on the market...

BMW's new R-1200-GT... Beemer's R-1200-RT... Honda's ST-1300... Yamaha's FJR-1300... And now this new Kawasaki. If past history is any indication, it won't be hurting for horsepower... and it's a pretty fair bet it's engine will be based on Kawa's new ZZR-1400, which is made ot carry the fight ot the Suzuki Hayabusa. You can bet it will have all the other features, etc. of the competitors listed above... like shaft drive, fuel injection, detachable bags, large fuel capacity, etc. Remember Kawasaki showed this concept bike a couple of years ago...

I doubt what's coming will be nearly so radical, or have a center-hub steering front-end, etc.... But I'll be the new Kawasaki gets a bunch of its styling cues from this ZZR-X.

Cheers!

Ah, yes. From the land of "Real Soon Now"...

Prolly have to dealer pre-order for a couple of years to see if there's any demand... And, it will have a push-button transmission with a block of buttons on the handle bars, similar to DeSotos from the fifties...

Um, is this post gonna bring out that Noonan guy????

I simply snagged it from ADVrider (where i lurk these days as i contemplate the trading of my R for a 12GS....) and posted it as an image. If you quote that post, it will give you the code... or, you can right click (for windoz folks) on the image above and view it's properties.

Danny has been fired from Bushwood for conduct unbecoming a caddy.
I'm filling in. That bike is chock full o' japaneezy goodness. Dallara, you know you want one. It's Japanese. It's the anti-bmw. Why buy an overpriced beemer when you could get the best pile of everything you want, graciously dumped for a low-ball price on U.S. soil? By the way, D, do you sell Japanese cars? Just curious.
That's it for now. I'll just carry on with my current ride. Maybe I'll go the route of ofrogg and get a beemer GS. I don't think the japs will conquer that market anytime soon. Having said that, I'm sure Dallara will site some examples of japaneezy off-roady goodness.

Carl (Danny)...

Post by dallara »

Well, Folks... We didn't have to wait long!

Here's Danny back, right on cue, as "Carl"... Funny he would pick Carl, as that is just how I imagine him to be in person... "Cannonballing" a bit of cheap wine to go with his "homegrown", an dhaving the personal hygiene of a sewer rat...

Do I want one of these new Kawa's, Danny/Carl?

Hmmmmmmm... Don't know... Hard to know until they show us the real thing, but...

Sure, I might want one... Just like I want an FJR-1300... Or an R-1200-RT. Only thing is I know the R-1200-RT is so ludicrously overpriced as to remove it from my consideration... Just as the Honda ST-1300 is removed from my consideration for being ridiculously overweight.

See, Danny/Carl... I'm not hung-up on badges, brands, or logos that serve only to prop up the ego of the owner. Rather I tend to judge things on their merits, along with their cost/benefit ratio... You obviously won't understand that, but that is really how most intelligent people make buying decisions.

And yes, I do sell Japanese cars (Subaru's), along with Lincoln-Mercury's (American) and Jeep's (an American brand owned by German's essentially). Oh, and I own a Chevy Suburban, too... And cameras by Canon, Contax, Leica, Rollei, and Nikon... And guns from British, American, German, Austrian, Belgian, Italian, Spanish, Czech, Israeli, Swedish, and other nationality gunmakers... I drink Scotch whisky... And love French champagnes...

For pure off-road mounts I like KTM's first and foremost, but all the Jap makers have great stuff. For dual-purpose there are only three for me - KTM and BMW for the larger mounts, and Kawasaki KLR's for smaller than that.

Get the picture, Carl/Danny?

Best tool for the job and all that...

So you are going to stick with your Jap ride, eh? The one you hate every time you ride it, right?

Must've found out you really don't get that extra $50 BMW key for free...

Keep on keeping on, Danny. You are a riot, and your credibility erodes with every post you make...

Cheers!
