A friend sent me pictures of this crocodile cruising down the street in New Orleans while the streets were still flooded. The military shot the critter. Animal experts think the croc was looking for tasty, slow moving tidbits. The kind of food that walks on two feet. They are opening up the croc to check the stomach for its contents.

All I know is what you see. The text which went along with the images was:

"Now this is a Crocodile!

This crocodile was found in New Orleans swimming down the street. 21 FT long, 4,500 lbs, around 80 years old minimum.

Specialists said that he was looking to eat humans because he was too old to catch animals. This crocodile was killed by the army last Sunday at 3:00 pm, currently he is in the freezer at the Azur hotel. The contents of it's stomach will be analyzed this Friday at 2:30pm."

Well I did a search of the Azur Hotel in New Orleans. What came up was a link to the Snopes site.

The crocodile was shot in 2003 in the Rupublic of Congo. It was a Nile crocodile 50 years old, 16 feet long and about 1900 lbs. So there you go, it's always something.
