I haven’t been able to post pics or even post and see it. What gives?

This site does not host Images. You will need an account on a third party pic site, i.e. photobucket.com
When you post your pics to the third party site, you paste the URL from the site with [img]<url>[/img] tags.
The page on this site will link to your pic on the image hosting site, and display it.

Do not use photobucket.com. They will charge you money for linking your picture on their website.
Make an account on another website that will let you do it for free, tinypic.com for example.
Upload your picture to that website and use the link and put the link in your message on this website.
