Improving 2004 R1150R: AF-XIED vs ReCyclizer, +1200 injectors

I'm wondering what is the recent opinion on
AF-XIED (
http://sales.nightrider.com/AF-XIED-for ... _p_61.html)
versus
ReCyclizer (
http://www.recyclizer.com/bestellenen.html)
for improving engine operation on 2004 double spark R1150R?
Also I've seen some folks upgraded injectors to 1200 with great success (
https://www.tills.de/Twin-Set-12er-Vent ... R1150.html), anyone done it? What is your opinion?
Thanks all!

Movie on the injectors

Friend of mine did that. Very enthousiastic about it. Considering it. But it's 160 Euros excl 15 euros shipping to USA.
I've got the ReCyclizer (
http://www.recyclizer.com/indexen.html)
Works well. No KFR (surging). Happy about it.
No AF-XIED experience.

Thanks!
Injectors can be sourced from ebay plus extra $30 for adapters from here:

FYI, I have a single spark R1150R.

I have a 2003 R with 114,000 miles, and installed the AF-XIED 3 years ago. It improved how the bike ran. The engine feels smother, more power in lower rpm’s and feels better all around. The occasional pinging has been reduced in warmer weather. Mileage is down slightly. The bike runs noticeably better with it.

Appreciate that, ctRrider. Mine is a 2002 single spark 1150R and it does have the AF-XIED added. On top of numerous other things, including throttle body replacement on the right and a Bing rebuild on the left. What setting do you have on the AF-XIED?

It would be really useful to hear any relevant stories from double spark owners. Double spark was invented by BMW for fixing engine design flaws including surging, which my bike is prone to on low speeds (1st / 2nd gears). I'm wondering if it is common with double sparks and upgrades are required for improving low speed/ low rpm engine output, or I should look elsewhere and fix my bike first. Thanks all!

Ditto for my 2002.

2004 Rockster with AF-XIED. Result: improved low-to-mid RPM punch according to butt dyno, and "meatier" overall throttle response. Not earth shaking, but a very simple & inexpensive improvement. I run it at 7.
Having owned several oilheads, I'm convinced that AF-XIED is only engine mod worth trying; the motor will never be a torque monster nor high HP screamer... it's a great do-everything powertrain.
FWIW I didn't find any significant motor differences between my single spark 2002 Roadster and twin-spark 2004 Rockster.

I don’t remember exactly what setting I have on it, I think I tried different settings and left it on the recommended setting it came with. I’ll look when I shovel a path to my shed or the snow melts.

I will add this about dual plugs.
On a light aircraft engines you have two sparks per cylinder (dual mags). When you do a run up to check them before take off (partial throttle) the rpm will drop 100 to 125 rpm when you turn one spark off. Of course the dual ign is for redundancy but you can defiantly feel the power loss at full power if you turn one (mag) spark off. These are engines of less than 4" bore.
This simply means that you will get better efficiency with dual spark, no doubt. You probably won't feel it on a moto because your almost never at full throttle and load and can't turn off one spark to feel the difference but its there.
People go to single spark to eliminate the stick coils..ok well and good, can't tell the difference?... but is there just the same.

Another 04 with AF-XIED using 7 for the setting. I live at 7000 feet. Still get a little surge at low RPM and no load (25 - 30 mph in 3rd gear on slight down hill). Maybe a little less milage but much smoother at going down the road speeds. Open road gives an honest 50 mpg.

"Double spark was invented by BMW for fixing engine design flaws including surging, which my bike is prone to on low speeds (1st / 2nd gears)"
Quoted from Kirya. When I bought my single sparker from a trusted UK dealer Rainbow Motorcycles, they mentioned the surging issue and said it did not occur when a bike had the throttle bodies correctly balanced. Mine did not and has never surged, and has always run well, to be honest I'm not entirely sure what surging means . I've ridden plenty of carbed and injected bikes without an issue. Maybe it is a problem with the gas (petrol in UK)?

I'm with you on this. I have had both the 1100 GS and 1150 GS and in over 256K miles on my rockster I have never detected any what I would call surging.
I have ridden other beemers (1100 and 1150) that the owners have complained of surging, and never felt same.
My theory is that if your riding slowly while holding the throttle manually (not locked with friction device) the slight undulations of the road surface can cause small hardly detectable movements of the throttle leading to the perception of surging of the engine.
Of course this is not to say that surging can't occur on a miss tuned machine.
Some people are very sensitive, so much so they feel things that are either there or not interpreted correctly.....like seeing a ghost or monsters under the bed.
Not meant to offend, just my take...

Yes I'm a bit sensitive after riding silky smooth Suzuki parallel twin in the past, but I'm not convinced to spend any money yet on my double spark from all feedback I received here. Concentrating on the tuning at the time being.

Update: it appears that my TPS sensor was misaligned resulting in on-off throttle and surging on low speed. All of it was cured by proper TPS setup and bike runs much better now!
