cruise control

I'm building a touring project bike that I'm collecting parts for. One of the things I want on this bike is a good cruise control. I don't mean a throttle lock, have those, I want it to work like other cruise controls where it moves the throttle or the injector butterflies to maintain speed. Anyone done this and can point me?

I've been riding R's since '03 and I've not heard of anything other than a mechanical system which you know about. From what I've seen on later BMW's I think a ride-by-wire system is used? Not sure how you'd manage this as I would think it's all tied into the computer/motronic system. I wonder if there would be some sort of aftermarket system but just haven't heard of one.

I've been looking for something like that too. But on this side of the ocean, I haven't seen anything but mechanical systems.

Anyone work with MC Cruise (Australia) or Rostra (US & Canada)?

I have an MC Cruise for my HyperStrada which is CAN bus and throttle by wire, so no applicability. The Rostra looks more like what i'm used to seeing for a car (my Harley).
