Just about to reach my 1 year anniversary with my R2004RA. Have 14,000 miles which my dealer considers high mileage (?). He's prompting me to extend my warranty. I realize it's a personal choice but I just wanted some opinions from the great, informative riders on this forum.
Thanks in advance!

my understanding is that BMW does not offer an extended warranty, and that the better aftermarket warranties don't have to be purchased until your bike is nearing the end of it's original warranty, either trime or mileage, 36 mos or 36K.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, as I do intend to purchase an extended warranty at some tim in the future.

Re: Extended warranties
You are good for 3/36 from the factory, so no need to spend more money. Your dealer may be trying to pressure you in to buying a contract, which will be pure profit for him, by telling you it's only "available" from him for the first 12 months you own your bike. Tell him to stop trying to yank your ding-dong.taosports wrote:Just about to reach my 1 year anniversary with my R2004RA. Have 14,000 miles which my dealer considers high mileage (?).
