Tool Kit for the R1150R

Just bought a spanking new r1150r, was a bit disapointed with the tool kit I got for my BMW. All I got was a screwdriver, a few spare fuses....that's it. Nothing else! How are we to remove the back wheel? Is that what everyone else got for a tool kit???

No. You should get a tool roll with it. On the bit that folds over the top is an outline illustration of all the tools that should be in the toolkit. A list of all the tools is also in the owner's manual. All sorts of spanners, Allen keys, screwdrivers and fuses and stuff should be in there.
Give your dealer a call.

The tool kit supplied should be in a black vinyl wallet and contain a small number of allen keys and torx keys to do the baisc maintenance tasks. There should certainly be a spanner for the wheelstuds.

You also get the all-important spark plug tool. Most standard spark plug sockets are too thick and will not fit. You need the tools to pull the wire boot and remove the plugs.

The same thing happened to me. I went back to the Dealer and queried it and they gave me a full tool kit. From what the Manager said it happens quite often.

When I took delivery of my '05, the dealer said that BMW was
eliminating the tool kit and tire patch/inflation kit from the '06
models. Has anyone else heard this?
Marc, did you get an '05 or '06?

Hey Marc, my tool kit on my 2005 is only a screwdriver and a couple of fuses. Anybody else from Italy, who got only a screwdriver.......I've had a more complete tool kit on my VFR!!!!

Could be the local dealer trying to ensure he gets the servicing of you ride? If it is in your manual, demand they put one in the bike.
