I am looking to purchase a Sargent seat for my bike. Does anyone know where I could get the best price?

Someone has one for sale on Ebay. Go to "Buy", click on "Parts and accessories", then click on "British and European" under the motorcycle section. I just put "bmw seat" in the search section.

Best price would be used... BUT you'll have to lurk and wait: ibmwr.com and the various other BMW boards PLUS ebay, etc.

I lucked into mine when a fellow BMW club R/R owner sold his bike but kept all the custom goodies to sell (got system cases and RACK for $400, the Sargent seat for $250).

I think it may be a long wait. I don't recall seeing many used Sargents on the various motorcycle classifieds. How many trips with butt-burn are you willing to take to save a hundred bucks or so? IMHO it isn't worth it. Remember that you don't have to get the full front and back Sargent for around $570. You can just buy the front saddle for $300. Since I never ride two up I chose to get just the front saddle which I bought new for $300. Well worth it, IMHO.

buy it.

on the recommendation from this board, i bought one before leaving for the national rally in OH, 1300 miles in a little over 3 days. my arse couldn't thank me enough, this is a great seat. then, i received one as a gift for my birthday, listed it for $275 as new and sold it quickly, could've sold 12 of them for that price from that ad. I'd recommend getting one from Sargent or from one of his distributors. The distributors will be a little less and may have one in stock. I got mine from Sargetn directly in less than 3 weeks total, shipped in 2 weeks. I only got the rider's portion, cause i don't take passengers.

did i mention that i love my sargent saddle?

Got mine from Ebay for 440.00 delivered, included pillion and Sargent backrest, even had the Citrus Green piping to match the Rockster. Had to watch and wait around 10 months though, but I was determined not to pay retail. 8)

Heh - it's funny how we go out of our way to save a buck! The next thing I buy for my bike will be a Sargent. They hold their value so well, it's not really worth a used one unless you get the exact color you want, and may save $50. There comes a line that if the savings aren't that great, then go with retail. Personally I want a Sargent with red piping but I doubt I'll ever see one used, so I would have to 'settle' on an all black one and then only save like $25~50! No thanks, I'll spend the few extra $$$ to get a seat with the red piping.

I am selling my son's ATV and my dirtbike, which will bring in lots of extra cash. Hmm, Sargent first on the list, then GPS, and round out the 'touring' corner with a full sized left case. If there is money left, then I'll probably get an Autocom. I say money left, I need to get my son some things from the 'sale' of his atv, which is going strong on Ebay. :)

Anyone have a used Sargent w/red piping? Cheap?

Got mine off EBay through partmonster, front & back, griptex materal,$20 extra for the red piping, I think it set me back a total of $550 shipped. not bad considering all the ones I saw for sale used went for well over $400. Don't be in a hurry though, I think it took a month to get... but still well worth the wait. comming back from CO. this summer 720mi in 13hrs. & I felt great! Never thought I'd say that. [/img]

I believe the carbon FX material is supposed to be pretty close (according to some anyway) to the factory pattern.
