If you mean the footpegs - where your foot rests - they aren't adjustable. Most kits simply lower them (reducing cornering clearance.) If you mean the shifter and brake pedal - those are adjustable, and actually rather easily. Both have an adjustable linkage.

I've installed the peg lowering kit from Wunderlich and it make a world of difference for me. They do reduce cornering clearance a bit but that has not been an issue for me. Take a look here:

I made my own lowering brackets. Not a big deal. I have never scraped the pegs, so I was not worried about losing clearance.

15,000 miles, almost no chicken strips and still no dragging anything except my feet.

That extra inch lower pegs makes for a better more comfortable ride.

When I installed the Wunderlich lowering kit, I noticed it came with German TUV approval stickers. This means that the official German certification board considers it safe. Between that annd my own observations, I don't think that ground clearance is much compromised with this particular kit.

Does anyone have a set of these peg lowering things that they would like to sell?

+1 on the Suburban Machinery kit. Once installed an observer would not spot them. They greatly add to the comfort of the bike.

It occurred to me yesterday that lowering the pegs might help the pain I get in my hip joints on a longish ride.

The Wunderlich system lowers the pegs only 20 mm (~0.8 inch), and does not spread them out from centerline the way the Suburban system does. The Suburban system drops the pegs almost twice as much as the Wunderlich. Either system is going to compromise cornering clearance, but Suburban more than Wunderlich. Since I have been known to drag the pegs, I decided that less is more and went with Wunderlich. The amount of relief is remarkable for such a small change. My Bill Mayer saddle is also taller than stock, which helped my decision. It is surmised that a lowered saddle may work better with Suburban. Now if I could just figure out how to make my hands work without shaking all over the place...honest to God, getting old sucks.
