Square Route Rally anyone? This weekend..

The BMWBMW Square Route rally is this weekend, Thurmont MD (actually about 10 miles west.. those 10 miles are some of the most interesting riding in about 100 miles..)

I think I've been there 16 times, perhaps more. It always rains. The weather guesser is saying it won't.. but I'll put money on a Saturday afternoon flash storm, probably all of 15 minutes long.

I know a few other denizens of this forum have been known to go, I've got to convince myself to go again (I was just riding in that area about a week ago.. on the way back from Morton's Spring Fling in VA..) If some other R12R owners are showing up that might tempt me.

Bill Webster - is the baby big enough to run away for a weekend yet?

Rally is a good time, food is good, Friday night usually has a good talk, Saturday night there has been some decent (and some awful) entertainment. Beer is good and inexpensive. You can sleep in the dirt (camp - hi Harry!) or take a bunk in one of the bunk houses. I'd suggest good earplugs for either option. I seem to recall $45 being the on-site registration, but I could be wrong..

Don, thanks, the baby just turned 3. :D She loves "Stephanie Street" and orange and yellow, so the Concept Ninety is right up her alley. I can't make it to SRR this year, but I do have some free time Saturday afternoon. I live about 30 minutes away from the camp and would be thrilled to give you and anyone else a tour of some of my favorite roads in Maryland horse country. We could also get some lunch if time allows.

I wish I'd know about the rally a couple of weeks ago, Id have made some plans to ride down. I always liked that part of the country.
